Situated in the semi-rural eastern edge of the Twin City Metro area Lake Elmo, Minnesota offers the quiet of the country, the beauty of the rolling prarie savanah and easy access to the vibrant activity of a metropolitan city. With an area of approximately 25 square miles, Lake Elmo became an official city in 1969 and was reported to have a population of 8,300 as of the year 2000 census.
