The gem within this area is the Lake Elmo Park Reserve [map]. It is a 31.2 square mile park with eighty percent of its acreage set aside for preservation and protection. The reserve offers a variety of terrain, including forest and prairie, and is home to vast numbers of birds and wildlife.
Developed areas of the Reserve offer opportunities for camping, bicycling, swimming, fishing, boating, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing amidst this natural setting. The Reserve is open year-round so you can experience its stunning beauty as the seasons change.
